In a fitting end to a year in which he dominated TV screens and front pages across the World, Barry Chuckle has been named Time’s person of the year.
The annual cover on which the magazine recognises the person who “for better or for worse… has done the most to influence the events of the year” pictures the businessman, philanthropist and possible future UK prime minister alongside his life-partner Paul.
The editor-in-chief of Time, Nancy Serious, wrote in the issue: “In a year in which Ronald McDonlad has become President of the free world, it seems only fitting that we make Barry Time’s 2016 person of the year. That thing he does with the ladder could well hold the key to the problems in the Middle East, and he’d certainly know how to solve a problem like Brexit with his innovative to-me, to-you approach. You folk in Great Britainshire don’t realise what a good thing you’re onto. Cherish him and hold him close to your bosom, for talent like that comes along but once every millennium”.
