Love is in the air as gorgeous George Clooney and his bride-to-be ‘That Lucky Cow’ prepare to get married. Touted as the marriage of the year, the harmonious coupling took place in a shroud of secrecy by the beer barrels out the back of the Rose and Crown on Saturday afternoon.
Reading like a who’s who of the rich and famous, the ceremony was attended by some of the biggest celebrities of the modern age, including Bernie Clifton (dressed as a bird so everyone would recognize him), Tucker Jenkins, the drummer from the Monkees and that woman off Big Brother that used to be a bloke.
Wivenhoe Mayor Dame Dannii Minogue attended in the role of best man for Clooney and the happy party settled down for a sausage roll and salmon sandwich buffet in the bar afterwards.
Local celebrity and DJ for the after party Kenneth Johnson told The Watcher: “It were brilliant, George were all romantic and that and she proper loved it. There was loads of nice nibbles and everyone were drinking that coffee what George does the ads for on the telly. I got loadsa autographs until they asked me to leave.”
The Watcher wishes the couple every success and hopes that the new Mrs Clooney doesn’t fall under a bus on their honeymoon in Yarmouth. To be clear, I’d absolutely hate it if something terrible happened to her, leaving him looking for a new lady to take her place. Just saying…
