Wivenhoe clothes shop Boutique Chips is offering its customers a “once in a lifetime experience” that will allow them to visit new and exciting worlds simply by trying on one of the many outfits that it has instore.
The clothes store manager, known simply as ‘The Shopkeeper’ told The BBC’s Selina Scott on The Clothes Show: “Usually our customers come to us in traditional Wivenhoe garb of a smart black suit and a bowler hat. But by popping on one of our many fancy outfits they can find themselves transported to a far off land where they’ll be magically transformed into a caveman, a spaceman, a pirate or a shadow home secretary. It’s like well mental or sumfing.”
Clothes are available for free, but The Shopkeeper does charge a small fee of £1,500 to bring anyone that tries them on “back from the other side”.
Allegations that the leaky pipe from next-door's LSD factory have anything to do with this unique shopping experience have been strongly refuted by a caterpillar on a Chopper, Brad Pitt’s talking six-pack and Rainbow Bright.
