Whether you’re one of Wivenhoe’s children trying to get to the nearest decent school in the nearby village of Edinburgh, a pensioner hoping to go down the arcades or someone that’s desperate to see what lies beyond the city walls in the Wildlands, you can’t fail to have noticed just how rubbish Wivenhoe’s bus service is.
But good news has finally reached the sprawling metropolis that its public transport network is about to enter the 19th century as a new bus service has finally been launched.
Speaking to The One Show on BBC 1 last night, the bus company’s owner, Dereck Fiddles, explained that the new service: “Offers that personal touch, providing privacy and comfort so that every journey can be a voyage of self-discovery,” before adding: “Nothing beats the release of getting yourself off… to a flying start at the beginning of the day and I like to think that this new service will bring much-needed relief to the people of Wivenhoe. Unlike other buses, we guarantee that the customer always comes first.”
The service kicks off tomorrow from 9am and if you’re late you can always catch up with it by following the trail of screwed up bits of tissue.
